What Teachers Want Parents/Grandparents/Aunts/Uncles/Everyone Who Loves Kids to Know

Welcome! The idea behind this blog is to share our thoughts as reading specialists. The title is just the beginning of who we are. There are so many reasons we want to share information with you, all of the stakeholders in our children's reading careers. So often, we share information about what works in reading with other reading teachers. However, we keep out important stakeholder(s). Those people to whom our children go home. How many times have you asked a teacher what you can do to help your child's reading skills and have heard our standard answer, please have your child read every day? This is great advice; children need to read for a minimum of 20 minutes every day (depending on the age). However, there is so much more we can be sharing with you, and THIS is the place.
